REVIEW FOR UNDERHYPED: THE NIGHT HUNT
THE NIGHT HUNT by ALEXANDRA CHRISTO
STANDALONE
REVIEW:
I said it
once and I will say it again: you can read this author in any sequence
you want, and every book will still be better than the last.
The story
follows a monster who feeds on fears. Atia saw her parents killed by the Gods,
and she understandably hates them. But can she do anything about it? No. Not
yet and not alone. Her kind of monsters, called the Nefas, were banished to the
mortal realm and there is one rule every monster must follow on the mortal
realm: do not kill any human. Of course, monsters still do that, and if they
are fast enough, they will not get cursed.
Atia kills a
man accidently, and is now cursed. And can one undo a curse? By killing a
vampire, a banshee, and a God.
Enter Silas,
a Herald, who was punished to serve the God of Death for one hundred years.
Fifty years in, he is very bored by his monotonous life and would have killed
himself if he wasn’t already dead. Then he learns that for his freedom, he
would have to kill a God. Except that Heralds cannot kill anyone.
Forced to
make an unwanted alliance, Atia and Silas go on a mission along with my two
favourite babies, Tristan and Cillian.
NGL, I loved
human Tristan and half-banshee Cillian more than I loved Atia and Silas. They
were just too adorable.
I really
enjoyed reading this (as I enjoyed every other book written by Alexandra
Christo) and I can’t wait for more books to come!
